Oh, look. Another year gone (almost).
Lots of stuff has happened, of course - finally getting a full-time job and back into the office was one of them. Great for being able to afford food again, but it contributed to the death of my creativity.
Until just recently I haven't done much of anything drawing-wise since I lost my files (though I did finally finish some writing!). But now I have gotten Manga Studio - and oh man. That program does what I have been using 4 programs to do! It makes so much difference to be using a modern program instead of the 10+ year old ones I was using (and it's not likely to crash and eat my work like the ancient Painter did). Talk about suddenly bashing through the creative block! I also learned that when I am feeling creative, I really cannot get to sleep. Having gone nearly a year being able to sleep well, it is kind of a shock...
Well, the drive is still dead, but I have one thing left to try, short of paying hundreds of dollars for a restoration, which I still can't afford. If it doesn't work, I am resolved to use my low-quality JPG backups and get back to work on the comic by redrawing over them to make it colorable again. A pain in the butt, to be sure, but much better than having lost everything completely. Also pondering just making it grayscale, but color is kind of important for it, so I dunno. On Monday, I shall see
In the meantime, it's time to get back to drawing!
